High science dramatically increases damage for plasma and acid weapons and at 60 science N-ray damage is doubled and acid damage is increased +25%. Increased accuracy for anything using N-rays Increased post armour damage for anything not using N-rays Reduced spread for Assault rifle and machine gun (at all but point blank range the increase in rounds on target outweighs the increase in number of rounds) However, you can't get them at the higher levels and past 5-10 levels of upgrade tinkering becomes outrageously expensive.Īcid for everything else ( you could also choose to leave the flamethrower as plasma and instead give it mag num) That lvl 50 armour will block all damage from the machine gun but only 100 damage from the rifle.ġ Assault rifle / light assault rifle (whichever if best at your current tier)ģ Light machine gun (heavy machine gun is sometimes better but uses way to much ammo)Ĥ Sniper rifle (whichever has the highest dpm at your current tier)ĭepending on the level I may swap out the sniper for a plasma rifle as this can be charged to do an awful lot of damage. Therefore if we have two weapons with 1000dps a machine gun which fires 20 shots per second dealing 50 damage each and a rifle which shoots 2 shots per second dealing 500 damage each. an armour with a rating of 50 will reduce the damage taken by 50. This is because armour in the outer worlds works on a flat reduction. High single shot damage is vastly preferable to high rate of fire. I'm generally not a fan of melee weapons so I can't speak to their effectiveness.
